Green Acres
Park Development Grant Proposal
2026
Concept Plan
The Hopewell Quarry is applying for a Green Acres Park Development Grant for the 2026 funding round. Below are the items we are looking to include in our submission. These capital repairs are crucial requirements to the Hopewell Quarry remaining open as a swimming facility. Affordability and sustainability are at the forefront of our decision making process.
Our current fundraising goals contribute to the match for this grant proposal.
-
We are looking to create a new bathroom building that meets current ADA requirements. This facility will include baby changing stations and lockers.
The old bathroom building will be repurposed to become an area for seasonal staff or an office space.
-
The Hopewell Quarry is long overdue for capital repairs to our septic and well systems. Updating these will reduce plastic waste and operation costs.
-
A new well allows for the return of a water bottle refill station. This reduces our environmental impact and allows visitors access to a clean, potable water source on-site.
-
ADA ramps will be created to assist with entrance to the Hopewell Quarry and the bathroom facility.
An extended railing and a ramp entry will be built at the entrance of the Quarry waters to improve upon safety and accessibility of our swimming hole.
